Lunden

Lunden

my two-year-old niece
points to canary-yellow
spring flowers at the

edge of my backyard,
says, Ooo! Daffy-dees! I then
reply, Don't you mean

to say daffodils?
Uh-huh, yes, she says, pointing
again, Daffy-dees!

Thanx ...

for your kind words. Lunden's got an amazing alternative vocabulary. Another example I take from her: chickies, of course, for chickadees. Chuck

Dear Chuck,

I have missed Lunden - and your unsentimental and loving observations of her discovering the world. Aren't kids wonderful? I still remember my son's word for penguin when he was 12 months (pah-pee-oo). What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet etc. Welcome back. Yours, ~Nina

Chuck, you always put a smile on my face. I hope that you are saving these pages for her to look upon when she grows older! _______________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

I love this too.

Ann of Norway Children have their own sense of independence even at that age, wonderful observation. There was a little boy in my kindergarten who was running, and we were not allowed to run indoors there, so I said: "Noah, you were running," and he answered:" no I wasn't I was jogging." Their logic is also fun isn't it barbsdad2003? Love Ann.

Wish ...

I had more time for this. The library's trimmed its hours, so I'm less of the time welcome here. Oh, well, it could be worse; i.e., the city could just close it entirely. And by the way, thanx. Comments appreciated, esp. those above. And yup, yup, Lunden's special, no doubt about it. Yours, Chuck
