Paralyzed I lie still

My nerves pounds on the walls of my brain

Eyes zoning out I feel nauseous

I attempt to write, yet it comes out lame

Usually witty, usually clever

I’ve lost my zest, humor and swagger

Sick to my stomach, I tried medication

But for what I am looking to medicate there is no salvation

I cannot sleep, yet awake is far off

The gym is waiting, my muscles are soft

Yet to move is exhausting, the energy I cannot find

Shall I lie here, and wait to die
