Depth Of My Soul

In the depth of my soul,
                                                                                        I was in control.
                                                                               But my emotions took hold,
And my soul was left to be torn.
I didn't have any accusations to say,
When I found out I could see you today.
You were in my life before,
But we left and I turned to stone.
With the depth of my love for you,
                                                                                 Broken and all alone.

Heartfelt and

endearingly simple but I found the end confusing. I think of stone as hard and as inconsistent with love. I also think of love as giving strength and not as resulting in brokenness or coldness. That is something else, I think: betrayal, need, I'm not sure. The punctuation is also confusing at the end which adds to the problem.
