A cry in captivity
What does it feel like to not be a hostage?
In life, I am gifted the faith of one in bonds,
Shackled—both hands and feet—
To the least of all fates.
Shamed,
To live my life in the way of hate.
Discarded here,
The remnants of something that failed to start,
My value reduced to
The amusement of my plight.
I have been tried—
In fire and in brimstone,
At the cruel burning of my shameful youth,
Only to find myself here,
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Among the ashes,
Feasting and dining
At the table of my prosecutor,
Living hand to mouth.
I am ridiculed by destiny,
The universe’s muse,
And all I can do is survive—
To see if tomorrow
Comes with a kinder offering.

About Me
I write poetry. My work leans onto the quiet violence of love, power, and survival. I’m drawn to disciplined language and emotional clarity, letting each line carry weight rather than noise. My poems are confessional without being careless, lyrical without losing their teeth. I write to name what is held captive, to examine the spaces where duty replaces warmth, and to give voice to feelings that resist easy redemption. Above all, my work is an act of endurance: a refusal to look away from what hurts, and a commitment to shaping it into something honest, deliberate, and human.
