Accepting Peace for Dante

You have to push your heart aside.
Out of the way, elbow and shoulder,
no matter love’s protests,

though they are not unheard.
Necessity needs to see beyond what love fears most,
the loss and damage of absence.

Accepting Peace for Dante

Hello, Michael,
Such a feeling of "just getting through one moment at a time." There is a void to this - like the deafening silence that meets you when you come home, where once there was rowdy joy and unconditional love. I'm so sorry.

I feel this as I would hear a thunder clap!

Yet I cannot imagine the life of those who have never accepted the love and life of a pet/family member into their own. I hope you understand my meaning. I recently had to say goodbye to my furry son black cat Miko who had enriched my life. He slept on my bed with me, just below my pillow. I am so sorry for your loss. memories will have to suffice until you are reunited across the Rainbow Bridge.

I so get your meaning Cat…

I so get your meaning Cat. We've had to say goodbye to two of our four legged family over the last few years. The love and an loss is intense, probaly because their life's are so relatively short. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
