Alive

In the stillness, I feel my heart heavy
ready to write
and feel
and live.

Ready to write what I’ve known to always be true
and move someone other than me.

Ready to feel what I’ve always ignored.
This time it’s better than before.
This time it feels real.

Ready to live for me,
be whatever I want to be…
whoever I want to be.

A poet,
A dreamer,
Alive.

Excellent write

Simple and honest. The emotions we go through as writers and the messages we try to send through our works are perfectly captured in this poem. Good job

!!!

This my kind of stuff. You’ve said so much in so few words and being that your audience here are poets, this one should get tons of attention. I really like this.

Well done,
Tim

Thank you!

Thank you so much! I wrote this for me, myself, and I and found it in an old notebook the other day. I'm so happy to share it with a group that can relate.

Thank you!

I also hate the term poetess... and heroine for female hero.

I'm glad you can feel it. <3

you and me both, Kristen...you would think they might grow a brain and realize it is degeneration.

Agreed!

Unfortunately, their brains are backed up on a floppy disk somewhere. For now, we can simply choose not to use those terms for ourselves and call it a day. :)
