All I Have

I longed for more time
to lay cornerstones,
but life had started
detaching my soles

I wanted more daylight
to see a Galaxy of beauty
that rested,
within one finger of breath

I desired of many things

to walk the Ponte Vecchio
and glimmer in its wares,
casting a reflection in the Arno
that wavered to the Vasari

to shelter
beneath a Sistine vision
as Michelangelo, Raphael
Botticelli and Bernini
dart in and out
of my haunt,
smudging all in view

to drink the atmosphere
of Stonehenge,
drowning in its history
and laying as sacrifice
in a swoon of blood

‘I want’
screamed a child in me

~~~~~~~
I’ve become a fresco
fingerprinted,
with need and desire
astral traveling
from the nib of my pen,
I sate my thirst
but,
as time lessens,
and daylight fades
in the history
that is me
‘I have’
what whispers in thralls
a will that ever dreams
Jayne,I'm blown away by your theme and the descriptive phrasing. You pain a huge canvas of vision and emotion.
" I've become a fresco fingerprinted with need and desire" I love this phrase it paints a huge sensual picture (pardon the pun)
Just love this!
A beautiful write of a long gone wish list, mine at the moment can be written on the back of a postage stamp that is my reality..
But you young Lady you can have it all still, there is no need to go astral travelling, you leave that up to me, when I have to go to "Taree" and walk the red dust roads of your lands, to look at Uluru as the sun sinks away hiding from a mere stones beauty.
Mind you it's not all good, I saw an Elf once sat in his garden atop a very large toadstool singing to a Kookaburra that was perched on his shoulder lol.
Have a lovely evening Lady of the Southern Skies, Yours Ian.T
