ALL THE LITTLE THINGS

ALL THE LITTLE THINGS

In a massive and complicated world
There’s often no time for little things
Tiny instances that make you smile
Or even wince, and sometimes both
Yet they are the very building blocks
That make us who we actually are
Not those elegant beautiful palaces
But the little things we’ll not forget

Short glimpses of accidental scenes
Like sunlight through leafy branches
Or tiny red breasted robin in winter
That unexpected smile in passing
On a normal daytime busy street
Not the things you’re meant to see
Works of art hanging silent on walls
And famous edited movie scenes

All the little things can just pass by
Unnoticed, unworthy to remember
Yet these are the very moments
That go to make up a unique life
A million images, words and scents
Each are an individual encounter
A picture of paint flicks on canvas
Standing back, to see the whole

All The Little Things

Hello, T48,
It's the obvious simplicity that makes this poem so beautiful. Wonderful title which lends itself to a genuine and wonderful poem.
Thank you!
L

(It's marked as Western form - help me out, here. I am intrigued!)

The second paragraph

Jumps out at me as you describe all those little things. The things we take for granted...the things we should take the time to notice. It is indeed the little things that can make a difference. Well done.

I felt...

a myriad of little things, tip-toing across my mind as I read this piece. It is no secret to me that there is a whole world out there that goes unnoticed. Depending on one's focus, we miss many things that escape into the blur of our day. Nicely done, Geezer.

Well done

I love this poem. I feel that these are the things that poets and/or artists pay attention to and these are the reasons that ppl adore them. Most people fail to see all the things they are missing until it’s too late.
