And If My Soul Is Crying
It’s happening again,
Such unbearable pain,
And if my soul is crying
As my heart is breaking, then that’s fine…
I’ve let so many people down,
Lost so many beautiful opportunities,
I feel so failed and forlorn,
But is that really such a tragedy?
Perhaps, rather,
It’s a positive thing,
Shouldn’t a true artist be suffering?
At least I’m feeling something…
It’s happening again,

I do see where you are coming from, and during especially sad periods I am wont to turn to certain artists, and Van Gogh has been among them, and they can somehow help to console me. I have loved Wilde since I was a teenager. Great to be in contact here. Carl.

I do enjoy your style of writing I see you follow the classic writers As I had them cramed down my throat while in school well now I tend to stay away from them. Very much looking foward to reading more from you

It's great to know you here, C Lynn, and I'm so pleased you like my style of writing. And yes, you are right, it is, each word was what you might call torn from me during a bad 'low', but I am in a better place at the present, and can say, I agree with you, I do not believe art and suffering should necessarily co-exist, far from it. and while they so often do, a fact which has produced some of history's finest works of art, it has been at a terrible cost in terms of individual suffering. I love Leonard Cohen, and he was as I see it, a major 'overcomer' of melancholia. I'll be sure to join you for a chat one Thursday soon. Carl.
