A rumbling in the heavens
Is it moving day
For those
That walk upon the clouds

An eviction of sorts
For the ones
Who refuse to conform
To the antiquated ways

Time has been
The master of great change
But do those of old accept
A revolution of new thoughts

Is the golden rule
Still applicable
To mindfulness in those
Of free thinking

Where does it say
Choice was taken away
When it was given at the start
The road is there before us

Seek and do not accept
If you must say:
“Do not ask
Take it on faith”

Refuse to be like domesticated
Cattle
Lead to a death by words
Which have no qualification

Inspect, ask, and investigate
that is where choice lies
And truth lives
Where you truly will survive

hello

Good admonishment. There have been way too many led to their doom by having given up their free will........stan

Dear Eddie,

Good verse and good advice!

Refuse to be like domesticated
Cattle
Lead to a death by words
Which have no qualification

Inspect, ask, and investigate
that is where choice lies
And truth lives
Where you truly will survive

This is really showing your advancement in your writing Eddie and I congrat you my friend.

This is spot on here:

Time has been
The master of great change
But do those of old accept
A revolution of new thoughts

I like the part but do those of old
accept a revolution of new thoughts..

reminds me of my parents and how hard it is for them to see the world 78 years later and how different and odd it must be to them coming from the old school of thoughts.

Great job thanks for this one. It's a keeper:)

Mona,

Time is the Era we live in, it's the only one we know. We must be opened mind to new thoughts and Idea's. even as we get older we can still learn.

This strikes me this morning

I recently started seeing a yogi pseudo -Buddhist and had thoughts running through my head that parallel your poem. Too often she would dive into some long, seemingly memorized, incantation of reasons why yoga and Buddhism where the pinnacle of human spirituality in order to bind me, as if her words held that same Buddhist magic, to her way of thinking. While I appreciated her thoughts on philosophy and spirituality, I found much of what she said about yoga and the effect it had on her mind, spirit, etc. perfectly explainable by physiological reasons. I spent some time as a personal trainer, and have a basic scientific understanding of how the body functions under stress, prolonged isometric stretching, and muscle contractions. My reasons were obviously false, and hers the truest of the true. I had to ..

Hey,
I don't believe we've meet, so I will give you and idea of me. I have been at neopoet for about three and a half years. I write this way because I am a long time Tao's and study -Buddhism. I have learned that most Guru teach from their propective. We must search out the truth that is in us, for no one can dig for treasure's that we already have. Our problem is that we do not look inside ourselfs. that is where the real treasure lays. No one can give you inner peace. to find it we must quiet all the voices in our mind. They lead us down the wrong path. The quiet inside us is what should lead us not the voice of those that want to domisticate us in their beliefs. That is why I wrote this. before we can find peace we must first rid ourselfs of the worlds domistication of how we should believe.
trust me you alraedy know this, but have not sat with yourself and let it come to you by quieting all the thoughts of your own mind. It is not an easy thing to shut out all thoughts that take over in our daily lives. The answer for you is in you not in what any one person says.

Peace to you and your mind!
Respect,
Eddie

hi eddie

such a good write
- with a great message
- blind faith in anything or anyone is dangerous
- in that we do lose our free will which is what makes us us....

i'm not a fan of free form particularly, so i don't want to crit this overmuch, seems well done to me

Judy,

it's more then free will, it's what binds us to our own Universe. We ourselves make heaven or hell in each moment we live. We let someone intrude in our heaven with their perception of how we should live.
Thank you so much for the read and comment. you have seen the truth of it.
