arch
under the arch
the darkness flows
and the river thrives
alive fringed with
ice lace
cold in the shadows
like regrets
snow falls sullen
and quiet
cream in this light
close my eyes and
listen to the breath
of the water sighing

the imagery is amazing, especially the last verse;
"close my eyes and
listen to the breath
of the water sighing'
I thought of a cold unfeeling peaceful death.
Thanks Eddie

Esker,
Vivid images here. I see Eddie has connected this piece with a "cold unfeeling peaceful death"...I felt this could relate to depression...living in a cold world and detached from 'real life'.
"cold in the shadows like regret" - perfect!
I really enjoyed this piece my friend, thanks for sharing,
HS
