Beginnings...

One final satisfying push!
Labor, gratifyingly over...
"It's a beautiful boy"
Nurse says in a smiling voice.
(pain no longer matters)
Gently placing him into
hungry waiting arms.
Healthy!
He is pink and perfect
unconditional love,
both mutual and enduring.

Remembering...

justifying the pain of childbirth, and the joy of motherhood! I've been in the delivery-room and watched. It was a life changing experience. The beginning...Nice stuff! ~ Geez.

Close to home

My lovely and kind wife is a super hero nurse in the local labor and delivery unit. I assure you she lives for these moments and they pay her for it. These moments are so spiritual and your poem speaks to the magic in that room when those tiny creatures come screaming (hopefully) into this world.

Beautiful job

Beautiful

Makes me think of each of my children's birth...all very different ways they entered the world but the end result was the same. So beautifully written.

Easy to read

Easy to read Cat, and a happy ending, terrible shame all births could not end like that. Alex
