Betting on Us

We regaled each other with our magnificent scars.
Tales of failures, love and redemption,
of which there were many.

Things that broke us, healed us, and patched us up
again and again, with a little wisdom of what is real.

And this was just enough for us
to hazard another throw of the dice.
