The Boss

Sweetly you kiss my cheek
As we lie down to sleep,
I know tomorrow when I rise,
You will be there by my side,

If tomorrow, the weather's bad,
If I'm depressed and feeling sad,
Even if I start to cry,
You will be there by my side,

You always have been and always will be
(no matter what the cost),
But please don't forget dear,
I will always be your boss

Hmmm...

Some will say that this smacks of chauvinism, and I'm not so sure that it doesn't. But I suppose that even chauvinists are entitled to write what they feel and how they think. Of course, in looking deeper, it may be that you are writing of something in a comparative manner, and it doesn't portray a person at all. ~ Geezer.

Aha!

You have misunderstood the poem! It's about someone who has been sleeping with a member of his staff!

I didn't think of that...

because of all the other things that you said. " Even if I start to cry
. you will be there by my side".

These are things that you would not expect to hear/see from a boss.
However, this is a new slant on the boss sleeping with an employee. I would venture to say that
he feels a great deal of love for this person. Nice work. ~ Geezer.
