The Colours of the Leaves...
Are changing.
No longer green,
but with tinges of red
creeping inwards
towards the centre.
They're falling from the large tree
outside my apartment
and collecting in places
which call to me
to clean them up
and remove them
from the balcony.
They're reminding me
that the year is moving on
just as I am.
The changes in the seasons
are in synchronicity
with the changes in me.
With each season,
I'm learning more and more
and not just about myself.
The colours of my life
are bright and sunny
even when it looks like rain.
They're my version of therapy.
They bring me joy.
They bring me vitality.
And just like the colours of the leaves
on the trees,
I'm absorbing all of them
in my mind.
They are moving me
emotionally
in an upward way.
About This Poem
Last Few Words: I love staring at the very large tree outside my apartment block on the nature strip, especially with the changing of the colours of the leaves, which marks the changing of the seasons. Of course, I decided to write a poem about it. That tree was one of the reasons I decided to buy the apartment. It really relaxes me on a deeper level.
