My thoughts...

as I read this over a couple of times were; that a rich, entitled snob,
with a penchant for African trophies, was miffed that anyone might take exception to their comforts and their obvious wealth. It brought about the outrage that anyone should feel when one encounters such feelings. Nicely done!

Hello, Geezer,

I was studying the population of elephants in the wild - there are now well under 500,000 in the world, and I came across a web-site that actually sold wild African animal hides made into rugs, pillows, furniture covers. One of them was listed as a "rare African Zebra pillow" for decor. What?! It sickens me. You are exactly correct with your comment.
Thank you for reading!

Short but intense

How we don't stop and think about where some of our prizes come from and who or what sacrificed so we can have them. Those who are entitled fail to see what those of us value all things living can. Well done.

Hello, RoseBlack!

So good to hear from you! Yes, entitled is the proper description. The arrogance astounds me.
Thank you for reading!

Hello, Cat,

I think it's the fact that these living beings are killed to be used as trophies and decor that sickens me the most. Who ARE we?
Thank you for reading, my friend!

A wonderful

take of the contest dear Lavender. Really clever!
I had to give this a couple of reads and to go through the comments to know what's going on, maybe because I wasn't familiar with the subject matter.
Thank you for sharing this and giving the time to introduce to us such information. It sickens me too knowing about all human's assault on our mother nature and it's valuable resources.

Thank you again

Hello, My Friend!

Yes, I probably should have added an explanation in the last few words - it does feel just a bit abstract. I came across a web-site that sold rare wild African animal hides made into rugs, pillows and decor. Humankind at our most arrogant.
Thank you, Rula!

Consolation prize!

After reading the comments I felt the sadness in your poem. The same thing goes on in the northwest USA in the murdering of giant trees or any tree for that matter. Great job I totally got it. The thought of these atrocities makes me sick also! Great job and good luck on the contest!
