Contemplate

Pause, discover
the gold that flourishes from
the depth of the green leaf

Rest while the
Belted Kingfisher rushes
the surface of the creek

Watch the spider build her web
Touch the moisture on the window
Smell pancakes on the griddle
Taste the maple syrup

Breathe in
Breathe out

Imagine all the kindness
the next moment shall bring

I really like this, you mention the kingfisher. I used to see them on the Weber river that runs through Morgan county where I lived for twenty-four years up in the rockies. Such skiled and beautiful birds. You seem to almost be onr with nature when you write. I think your meditations serve you well.

Hello, Leslie,

Googled the Weber River area - stunning! Oneness with nature brings only good things, in abundance.
Thank you for reading!

Dearest Lavender

Great theme, title, and execution!
I wonder if line 2 misses an (I) to read (I discover) though I'm sure it's intentional.
P.s I had to look up the Belted Kingfisher. Here is where different cultural backgrounds show
Thank you for sharing.

Hello, Rula,

Revised a bit - hope it's smoother. The Kingfisher is a beauty! Frisky and fun to watch as it dives up and down over the water. And so calm as it sits in the trees.
Thank you for helping with this, as usual!
