A Converstion With Self ( Idle Time Poetry)
Okay do we know who we really are
I don't want to go there
what about who we want to be
We were there once and what became of that
truth always hiding
lurking in the mist
what you see is not what you get
Believe
believe in what
not what whom
all was destroyed years ago

Yes...
there are places we don't want go. Dark and musty corners of ourselves that we only visit when we are sure that no one is looking over our shoulder. I have secrets locked behind doors and connected to the torturing devices in the dungeon. Every once in awhile; I yank the dark secrets out and put them on the rack and turn the screws and shut them in the Iron Maiden, just to hear them scream. Is that what everyone does? I don't know. A great read and food for thought. ~ Gee.

Hi Chrys
i agree with your statement we should know "who we want to be" yet not always one is able to get there, may be closer to it as a target..
regards..

A Conversation with Self
Hi, Chrys,
Excellent poem - sometimes I know the truth about myself, but not ready to face it or admit it. It's usually right below the surface, as you say, just lurking.
Thank you!
