Cookies and Poetry
In realms of words, where stories dwell,
Mark crafted books, a magic spell.
His loyal readers, year by year,
Sought tales and verse, held ever dear.
Then Jack, one time, with eager hand,
A poetry book, ten dollars planned.
But when the bill, a twist did show,
Twenty dollars, a doubled flow.
Jack called Mark, with gentle plea,
"Ten dollars more, it seems to be."
Mark, knowing well this faithful friend,
"Of course," he said, "I'll make amends."
A check arrived, through postal way,
Not ten, but hundred, bright as day!
Jack called again, with startled sound,
Mark's voice replied, "For you, renowned,
A loyal soul, a reader true,
A gift of thanks, from me to you."
Then cookies bought, from John's sweet store,
Poetry shared, and nothing more.
A night of words, and warmth so deep,
Where friendship bloomed, and secrets sleep.
Jack and John read, beneath the moon's soft gleam,
A poet's gift, a joyful dream.

I like...
this one, it has great vibes. I just don't see where the title comes from, I see nothing to suggest a connection to cookies.
