disillusion
a long cold season of gray
suddenly
a sunbeam pierces the clouds
why did I not expect it?
maybe predisposition
continually succumbing
to disillusion
but then, THWACK!
smacked blindside
once again,
ambushed by
eureka, joy,
and a boisterous
hallelujah

nice twist
if only disillusionment where always a pleasant surprise. Or was that boisterous hallelujah a tad sarcastic. I hope not. I am operating from a sleep-deprived point of view. It was still an engaging read, what with the THWACKS, piercing sunbeams and eurekas! Thanks for sharing.
