DISTRACTER-IN-CHIEF

Look over there! (just don't look here)
I'll not mislead you, never fear
and please don't read the constitution.
That is Never the solution.

What do you mean about Benghazi?
It had naught to do with me.
It's cause? A little video.
Believe me 'cause I told you so.

Immigration laws? Well I decided
some of them were too one sided.
So I decreed to not enforce
but I was not decision's source.

There's no "there" there at IRS,
just some rogue agents I would guess.
I'll get to the bottom of this I say.
Yes. I'll do it on some distant day.

Ignore my cuts in military
instead look at Joe, Nancy and Harry
as they gambol 'bout and clown
(while total employment heads on down.

Don't notice energy costs rising
That's not from My lack of compromising
on Keystone, natural gas or coal.
The "facts" I give are never whole.

I never said you can keep your health care plan.
That must have been another man
who must be one of those other guys
who govern with distracting lies.

The deficit keeps on increasing
due to wasteful spending never ceasing.
Balancing budgets is unfair
(My opponents all want dirty air).

My whole administration is transparent
me saying so makes it apparent.
You can see it all...except redactions.
I hope that gives you satisfaction.

War on women, crass racism
a dreadful growing income schism.
All is chaff so fools won't see
this country's main problem is ME.

Stan,

It's all a bit to much, but it's never enough. We create all this, and we can't do much but wait till there is nothing left, just to started all again.

I still stand by the man.

Hoping to get a chance to push his ass down a flight of stairs, or trip him. At this point even if the minimum wage goes up it will do zilch to enrich the economy.

Well written, and all the key pints made with verse, and stanza integrity.

Thanks fer' sharing,
David

Hi David

When he was first elected (in the first election in which I didn't vote in 30 years) I had hope that he would do what needed to be done. Instead, in the middle of a near depression he decided that a stimulus to the unions and gov't employees which cost about 1 TRILLION dollars of borrowed money and an unpopular and ill conceived health care bill was what was needed. And his foreign policy pretty much speaks for itself. Reminds me of Chamberlain. The only thing that can be said for him is that he makes Jimmy Carter look good...........stan

Nice satire to vent your resentment. I am not much into politics but as is said "people get the government they deserve" because it's the government they voted to power....:)

Hi raj

That's what frightens me most... that there were enough people here naive enough to have been fooled by him not just once but twice. I appreciate your coming by...........stan

You are right, don't read the constitution.

Teapartiers and Libertarians obviously don't. Especially with regard to the separation of church and state. Consider also when it was written. Things and ideas have grown, changed and developed.
The last line sucks.

Hi Jess

The constitution is a living document which allows for amending as times change thus the time in which it was written has little to do with its present day relevance. And it Nowhere guarantees freedom From religion but Does guarantee freedom Of religion and only forbids the government from establishing a particular official religion. And it's doing a pretty good job because I don't think anybody is required to do anything ,as far as religion goes, at any time or place. And No religion has been banned. Indeed even Satanism and atheism is tolerated.
As to tea partiers and libertarians, well there are extremists within each of these organizations just as there are extremists within the progressive and democrat organizations. Again, the constitution allows room for this . I guess it was foreseen that extremist groups tend to offset each other.

I suspect you don't like the last line because you support the present occupant of the white house. But he Is the leader of the executive branch of government which is charged with "faithfully assuring" that the laws passed by congress are enforced. As the head, it is His responsibility when his appointees break laws. It is Not his duty or even in his assigned duties to unilaterally change laws. He has failed in both instances. The only reason he was re-elected was because the media failed to disclose all the lies he told the public before the election. Lying to the American people is an impeachable offense but I doubt our legislators will ever push for it because the media would accuse them of racism. Hopefully he will be rendered irrelevant this November and will no longer be able to continue doing harm to our country............stan

Stan the man

that is how you answer people who do not live here and just make conjecture of how it is here. REVOLT, REVOLT, REVOLT...

Eddie and the real Americans that still stand united!

Hi Eddie

It's a hard thing to remember that most over seas media does not include any conservative programming. Thus most who don't live here only are given left leaning information on which to build their view of what's going on here. The community organizer Did inherit a hell of a mess but almost all of his misguided efforts have at best not helped and way too often made matters worse. And Barak is a master at directing thought away from his many failures. War on women by repubs (yet the Clintons did exactly that to all of Bill's victims). Global warming (used as a distraction from his lack of a coherent energy policy). Income inequality ( but Never mentioning the gap has widened during his administration) and the list is almost endless............stan
