Elasticity
Like a message scribed on rubber band
Whose tensile strength was tested
Stretched to capacity and imprinted
Before the band was rested
Difficult to read the script
Writing now becomes compressed
Shrunken and illegible
Mingled and distressed
Such is life whilst in the fray
Hard to read and packed in tight
Stretch the band and know the day
Dream throughout elastic night

Interesting take indeed
I interpreted this as perhaps referring to parts of the cycle of life. The part where we are strong and robust and our tenacity and strength is tested and prevails. Then as we get older, and our abilities tend to wax and wane, our hands become less steady but we keep putting in the effort daily. Perhaps I am overthinking but I enjoyed this piece as I do all your works.

An observation...
that just becomes apparent whilst reading this. It seems to me that it applies to many situations in life. When we are all stretched out and frazzled, we cannot see the true situation, then we relax, and we see the whole picture! I like thinking about this phenomenon, it made me think already this morning. Is your observation a simile or a metaphor? Hmmmm. Anyway, nice little poem that started the wheels turning. Thank you, ~ Geez.
