09/24 The Bully 🏆 Winner

Encroach and Invade

Mold is an inconspicuous bully
Decomposes reds, yellows, oranges
Blues, and even lime greens
Does not matter its outer shape
Covets the wetness deep inside
Feeds and declares dominance
Nest and festers, spreads
Like vermin and vectors
Permeates and inhibits
Its host hold on to structure
While degrading its bonds
In order to have its way with
Just about any old living thing
A temperamental nuisance
But it’s grotesque mold juice
caught the eye of Dr. Fleming
Its usefulness is no other
Than the holy grail
called Penicillin
Which fights viruses that would
Otherwise make human’s
procreation unviable and
Their deaths excruciating

I'm thinking...

maybe you should perhaps be teaching a 5th grade biology class. Sounds like a perfect description of what I heard in mine.
Your title sounds like the vernacular of those teenaged boys obsessed with videogames of death and destruction. It also represents some real out of the box thinking in the composition of the story. Nicely done! ~ Geez.

It’s nothing like going to

It’s nothing like going to the crisper to find your salad fixings moldy; especially with the high cost of food. The subject of bullying I took more a scientific approach for sure just to keep it interesting. Thanks for reading and your feedback.

Tawny!

Great take of the contest!
Though use scientific diction, I v. much like it.
Mold is definitely a bully! I'm happy sir Fliming could get sth useful out of it for the benefit of the world
I thought you can use punctuation here and there for a smoother flow, but that is only a suggestion
Thank you for sharing!
