Epilogue

Epilogue

Dire uncertainty gnaws at my spleen
like congressmen at a buffet
hinting at things that are vaguely obscene
and likely to not go away

a media frenzy is blocking the hall
as lobbyists kick down the door
waiting to see the next scape goat to fall
when president O takes the floor

third world dictators are starting to drool
as ISIS-run puppets arise
to shout their demands at some liberal fool
who winks with conservative eyes

illegal immigrants thrive on welfare
gay couples march down the aisle
drug lords are running cartels everywhere
God is somewhere in exile

the second ammendment is dying in place
and soon may be only a dream
of innocent citizens having to face
their enemies armed with a scream

and watching the final act curtain descend
on a nation once proud of its name
makes me ashamed I was willing to bend
and play the political game

Hi Lonnie

I am almost ashamed of what our country has become. But I maintain hope because the political pendulum has a tendency to swing from one extreme to the opposite. And how could it possibly be more liberal extreme than now? In my opinion it is imperative that the liberal Democrats lose control of the presidency as they have congress so that the damages done over the last 12 years can be undone. BTW liked the poem lol......stan

It is sad that in these times, there is no place for any country to be Great.
Electronic advances has seen to all things, and puts greatness in the hands of the greedy, so instead of a Nation like the States taking its place at the head of the table in the world, it is like the mad hatters tea party where they all move around.
Talking about Tea it came out today that the USA can make better Tea than the Brits, and we have gone over to drinking Coffee, have they really drained the waters of Boston Harbour and freeze dried it, lol, Take care young Warrior and know we still love our American friends,
Yours Ian.T Howard of the UK (I drink Coffee)

The pendulum,

The pendulum has been swinging from left to right for over sixty years now, and the ordinary person gains nothing. Only the politicians and people with wealth get further removed from society in general. Our mistake. we still believe that the political puppets are voted in to do what we want. They only do what the paymasters tell them to. Good poem Regards Roscoe...
