Euphoria
With eyes set beyond the horizon
back turned to the distant shore
suspended in the oblivion
between darkness and light
the sound of silence
greets the soul
into a peaceful Nirvana

As one...
who has experienced lots of confusion and excitement lately, I tend to agree, that the sound of silence could be Nirvana. I do think that you could drop the word [abode], and it would still be effective.
[greets the soul into a peaceful Nirvana.] Just a thought, ~ Gee

Thanks for the read and dwelling on this piece...i certainly value your comment being much more learned and also because of your prowess as an accomplished poet..
i have taken note of your perception...but would like to put across what i attempted to convey in this write...the first two lines being the physical state transitioning into the oblivion (stage midway between life and after life) further transitioning of the soul sans entity into Nirvana ...of course i am not at all spiritually enlightened but just tried to imagine how the passage could be...being an amateur perhaps i couldn't get this across in my write...
regards...

Ian..
thanks for the read and dwelling on it...please read my reply to the comment of Kal which will explain my take on passage of soul into Nirvana...as i have clarified...i am neither spiritually enlightened nor do i know anything about Theology...being an amateur i may have lacked in expressing my perceptions ..

of course no one knows ...at least I don't...about what and how it actually happens..it is indeed mysterious....this was just a thought about how the transition could be from an embodied soul to a free soul...and the void could be am intermediary stage between the two..there is no theory ..no background....this is just a free ride into fantasy ..nothing more to it than that....

Contrary to some of the above comments,
I think this does describe nirvana well, forgetting that it is achieved from the elimination of desire, amongst other things. Many westerners can't comprehend it because the goal is nothingness and all other religions preach success and spiritual immortality.
Peace.

Hi Raj
Nirvana - the extinguishing of desire, deep stilling of a mind opening up to a holistic consciousness in which the original state of man can be experienced.
I enjoyed the brevity packed with depth.
