An evening of magic!
Swallowtail butterflies,
circle the conifers,
the sky opens up,
in wondrous display.
Nymphs and damselflies,
play in the cool morning air.
Leprechauns dance,
in a festive way.
The party begins as,
the nightshade begins to fall.
Magic surrounds,
forest creatures that day.
The stars in the sky,
poke through the,
trees above.
Fireflies flutter and light the way.
The King of the forest,
makes a grand entrance,
everyone listens to his
rhetorical say.
The party lasts on,
past the midnight hour,
Gnomes are drunken,
with Irish ale!
When daylight approaches,
everything disappears.
There's nothing left,
to persuade them to stay.
About This Poem
Last Few Words: I've written things like this before, I like the idea of complete freedom. In the place in which I live, you can't say the same. When you find a niche, you've just got to stick with it. There's no escape from this lonely dismal day. If you look hard enough your paradigm might change. Look to the thinkers they'll show you the way.

An Evening of Magic
Hello, John,
I really enjoyed this! While walking through the woods, I can't help but wonder and imagine what happens in the evening, when humans are no longer invading sacred space. Your poem feeds my imagination! I am curious about "The King of the forest." Perhaps a large buck, or a wise old owl?
Wonderful!
Thank you!

Hello
Howdy John.
I know you have mentioned your current living conditions do not inspire much freedom of expression or hope. I am glad for you that you have poetry as a companion to help brighten the situation, if just a little.
Thanks for sharing this poem, I enjoyed the walk through the dark of night. - Will
