Pushing through the thick cobweb of words
Brushing across my face, eager to be chosen
Yet feelings and emotions are the blood supply
Raw stuff, strongly welling up from deep inside
Not this antimacassar of subtle intellectual lace
If words don’t come through in the normal flow
Then all that left brain penning is such artifice

Hello, Twizzle48,
I learned a new word: antimacassar. I've seen hundreds throughout my lifetime, but never knew what they were called. Seems grandmothers called them doilies. But now knowing adds so much to the poem. The intellectual lace and the cobwebs are both strong visually. The poem leaves me wondering, where is a poem born - in the left brain, or the blood supply? My thought is that it starts most the time in the heart, and the brain shows it the way to pen and paper. I am curious about the title.
Thank you!
L
