Frenchie
In life we may touch others
Set beautiful things in motion
Sway and bolster the hearts
Of our family and friendships
All our kind actions and loving words
Moving like ripples on the surface
Outward projections of love
Rocking sleepy boats with reverberant lullabies
Echos in time whose source has expired
Don’t ever cease to exist
So long as there are ears to hear
The notes of a loving life can never decay
Let us live forever in this refrain
And not despair for physical loss
Rather, sing authentic songs of self
Composed of love and memory

Beautiful
This a heartfelt, honest write. The memory of an incredible life is not one that is ever forgotten. Well done.

I love the poem...
and the theme. I agree that a well-done life, worth remembering, will not easily be forgotten. I've always said; that "If at least one person remembers you, you still live". This is a fine example of a free-form poem that gives much to think about. Your
language use is great, and the smoothness and pace make this a piece to be read over and over. ~ Geez.

Hello, Tim,
Beautiful poetry, inspiring final stanza. I can't help but wonder about the title, but I sense it is pretty personal.
Thanks,

Dear Tim
The ripples of love wash over all that live and commit deeply to life. This is an extraordinarily beautiful write.

This is my favourite stanza
Thank you for sharing your amazing gift

You are all so amazing
I lost a very close childhood friend recently to cancer. Frenchie was a nickname he picked up when he moved out to Colorado about 20 years ago. His family is French Canadian descent like so many in the textile belt so it’s fitting. He was the freest of spirits and lived every minute of his life under his own terms. He was a talented artist and musician as well as a lover of nature and an avid fly fisherman. He was loved by many and he touched the lives of literally thousands of people as his favorite band Phish has publicly immortalized him on stage twice already.
It’s nice to have support here. I fear my grief has only just begun and he is just so deeply imbedded into core of my very existence it a type of grief I think I’ll endure eternally and if that’s the cost of his immortality I willingly carry the burden.

Absolutely...
you have written a great tribute and I know that he will be with you for all the rest of your days. When you lose a friend/brother
of that length of time, it is very hard. Sometimes, I think that I will send my departed brother from another mother, a meme, or a holiday greeting, before I realize that he isn't going to answer. True friendship brings those moments. Nicely done, ~ Geez.
