I Live for You (The Full Moon Contest)
I used to live
To see the moon during the day.
I know it seems silly,
But everyone has something they live for.
Some live for themselves,
Their kids,
Their parents,
Their pets,
Their jobs…
But when you’re so low
That you feel like you have nothing to live for,
You have to find something.
I found mine.
When the sun was high in the sky
And she was right there beside him.
Two lovers destined to be separated forever.
Meeting just for a day…
It was beautiful to me.
Every time I saw the moon during the day,
I would say to myself,
“I want to live to see this again.”
And so I would.
Time and time again
I would live to see them together again.
Nowadays,
It’s a simple reminder that
I’m still here,
And I get to see them together one more time.

I enjoyed your poem, it
I enjoyed your poem, it reminds me of how often in the morning, I look up to see the moon in the sky while the sun shines and it gives me the chance to thank nature for all she does for us. Good job, Ruby :)

Hello Kristen,
I like to feel that the moon lingers through morning light like a fine wine (or name) lingers on the palate...
An excellent poem and these lines resonated with me:
I found mine.
When the sun was high in the sky
And she was right there beside him.
Two lovers destined to be separated forever.
Meeting just for a day…
that is exactly how I feel. Thank you for this!

I like the simple pleasure
I like the simple pleasure echoed in this poem. Paying attention to the most magnificent phenomenons of our universe and of the gratitude to be given the gift of life to repeat and take in another viewing.

obviously I see this in a different way. Anything that gets you through another day is OK! However this was very beautiful!
