I'm Running Away...

I'm running away
gonna leave the city lights
I'll write about the wind
my mistaken identity lost

I'm following the scent
the smell of the open road
My pages flapping in the breeze
pencil faded from the sunlight

Listen to the music
forgetting who I am
mistaken identity gone
away from the city lights

Don't forget to call me
say my name out loud
Scream into the sky
maybe I'll hear you

Running away...

is something that you usually have to do alone, unless you are ten years old. Of course, if you ask my wife or some of my friends and family, I'm sure that you would hear that I'm not even ten! Thanks for stopping by. ~ Geez.

Hi Geez, impressive piece, I

Hi Geez, impressive piece, I'm not sure I understand it all. Not sure about the paper and pencil bit because then it seems it's a person, yourself.
I'll return when there are more comments. Gracy

Hi Gracy...

When I do the challenges, I try to incorporate all four choices of title into one. I thought about running away and where would I go? I guess that I would like to travel the open road and write about the people and places that I discovered along the way. The pencil is me! You hit that squarely. I consider myself to be slightly archaic and thought that in this day of ballpoint pen and electronic material, I would represent myself as a pencil; writing on paper and faded from the sun. Thank you, ~ Geezer.
