Inner Storms

There is an inner storm brewing
Moving through the heart, mind and soul
And those tempting thoughts are strewing
On the verge of losing control

The heart wants it bad piece by piece
The soul burns slowly with passion
While the mind fights pursuing peace
Machinations move in fashion

There’s a beautiful sensation
When the winds caress and enthrall
Waiting in anticipation
The whispers of the approaching squall

As the waves reach their highest point
They climax with thundering roars
Inner storms never disappoint
When emotions engulf the shores

Inner Storm

Hello, Wallyroo,

I like the emotional pull within this - a lovely literal description of a storm at sea, but also the inner storm of the heart, mind, and soul.  Enjoyed!

Thank you!

Inner Storm

Thank you very much Lavender.

I think many of us have experienced that commotion at one point or another in our lives, whether good or bad. Gotta love how poetry lets us express it all.
