This just to say
This is just to say,
Take abundance, kindness and love with you throughout your day,
Feel the sunshine on your face, listen to the beautiful, bountiful birds in the trees,
See the golden green grass swish and sway in the serenading breeze,
Listen to the wind, let her lyrics linger after she’s whispered them to you,
Watch the collection of clouds in a sky bashful, brilliant and blue,
Try and lighten the load wherever you go,
Breathe in love and light, illuminate and glow.

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:
The poem adopts a gentle, affirmative tone, encouraging the reader to embrace positivity, mindfulness, and compassion. The structure consists of a single stanza with lines of varying length, which lends a conversational and free-flowing quality. The use of alliteration (“beautiful, bountiful birds,” “golden green grass,” “serenading breeze”) and assonance creates a musicality that reinforces the poem’s soothing mood.
Imagery is central, with references to sunshine, birds, grass, wind, and clouds. These natural elements are described in idealized terms, contributing to a sense of calm and well-being. The personification of the wind (“let her lyrics linger after she’s whispered them to you”) is a notable poetic device, adding a touch of intimacy and imagination.
The poem’s message is direct and unambiguous, focusing on encouragement and self-care. While this clarity is effective for accessibility, it also results in a lack of tension or complexity. The poem avoids ambiguity, irony, or surprise, which can limit its emotional impact or memorability. The language, while pleasant, sometimes leans on familiar phrases (“illuminate and glow,” “lighten the load”), which may reduce the originality of the voice.
The title references William Carlos Williams’s “This Is Just To Say,” but the poem does not engage with the subversive or confessional tone of the original. Instead, it offers straightforward affirmation. If the intention is to echo or respond to Williams, further play with tone or structure could deepen the intertextual connection.
Overall, the poem effectively conveys warmth and encouragement through sensory detail and musical language. Greater specificity, tension, or engagement with the title’s literary allusion could add depth and distinction.

This piece...
is filled with rhyme and beautiful thoughts wished upon a person beginning their day. I had a good deal of trouble finding a rhythm to make it smooth and memorable. I would suggest that you go over it and try to bring
some of the lines into a neater package, so as to make it more lyrical.
Welcome to Neo. ~ Geezer.
