lick my legs

I was named by the shadow of the lover of pj harvey

I come from the deepest projections of your mind

from your cruel inside

from your cruel inside

I put one leg on  the eyes of your dreams, the other leg

on your mouth to stop the screams

I am here to recycle the memory rejects

I come to stop everything`s heavy on the chest

lick my legs

my hostile style

lick my legs

I will be gentle a while

my name is the dark you`ll find in your mind

because the steps you`ve done are so blind, you don`t climb

don`t climb, is there only dare, strange kind to go

on purpose, on focus but shades of sadness drags in the ground

and the fall, majestic fall makes you foolin` around

I`ll come frome above to the deepest feelings of pain

see me like a war of your blood with the heart

sing my name in a pj harvey scream of a chant

don`t look at me, I will screw you apart

nevermind, nevermind

my name is the shadow of pj`s lover

I come from the deepest projections of your mind

from yours cruel inside

lick my legs

my hostile style

lick my legs

I`ll be gentle a while

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:

This poem employs a surreal, confrontational voice that merges psychological introspection with references to music culture, specifically PJ Harvey. The repeated phrase "lick my legs" functions as both refrain and provocation, suggesting vulnerability, dominance, and desire. The speaker’s identity is fluid, defined by shadows, projections, and negation, which creates a sense of instability and threat.

The poem’s structure is loose, with short lines and stanza breaks that allow for abrupt shifts in tone. The repetition of certain lines ("from your cruel inside," "lick my legs") reinforces the obsessive, cyclical nature of the speaker’s presence. The use of direct address ("I come to stop everything's heavy on the chest," "don’t look at me, I will screw you apart") implicates the reader, intensifying the poem’s confrontational energy.

There are moments where the language becomes abstract or ambiguous ("I am here to recycle the memory rejects," "see me like a war of your blood with the heart"), which can be effective in evoking a dreamlike or nightmarish atmosphere. However, some of these images could be clarified or developed further to enhance their impact. The syntax occasionally slips ("from yours cruel inside," "frome above"), which may be intentional to evoke a fractured voice, but if not, these could be revised for consistency.

The poem’s allusions to PJ Harvey and her music add a layer of intertextuality, but readers unfamiliar with the reference may find these lines opaque. Consider whether the poem’s emotional core can stand independently of these references, or if more context might help anchor the allusions.

Overall, the poem’s strength lies in its unsettling, immersive voice and its willingness to blur boundaries between self and other, desire and violence. Further attention to clarity in some images and consistency in language could deepen the poem’s effect.
