A Light In The Darkness (She was a contender)

A Light In The Darkness
(She Was A Contender)

go lightly, my friend
on your journey in peace.
I still see your smiling eyes
glancing at me,
that infectious smile
made me warm all over.
seeing the light of
your love for everyone
and everything
brought tears of joy
enriching all around you.
just thinking of your grace
eases the pain of the loss of you.
is this where our journey
together on this path ends?
or will I see you again,
when my mortal struggle ends?
I keep your smile in my memory,
your words of wisdom
reside in my heart.
you were a fighter
for the underdogs
loving creatures great and small
you strived to right all wrongs,
go lightly, my dearest friend
into that vast beyond...

Hello dearest Cat

This is so raw and heartfelt. I am really sorry for your loss if this is real ( though I wish it's not).

dear Rula,

it is real, though I wish it not. she passed yesterday. I got the phone call fro her daughter, Jess, and we have been keeping in touch. if you didn't know Chrys, you would have loved her and held her in high regard. She was one of those people who had a light about them. I am waiting to hear if there is anything I can do for her and her family. thanks dear heart.

*hugs and love, Cat

I am sorry

Is she a poetess? Someone in Neopoet. I remember a Chrisa few years back here, whose husband is a poet too.

yes...

Chrys and Lonnie were husband and wife, (both my friends, although I never met Lonnie in person) Chrys was a big contributor to Neopoet, in many ways. her name is Chrystalie or Chrys for short. she will be missed by many. she was also a brilliant poet who I had a few co-writes with. Lonnie passed a handful of years back. an excellent poet, too.

*hugs, Cat

Allow me to extend my deepest sympathies

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of Chrys. I was not fortunate enough to make her acquaintance in my short time here. I believe that as writers, we have the ability to immortalize not people or things but the emotion surrounding them. I ask what are we really except a collection of memories of experiences; our experiences and the way others experience us. In this way we live on in the memories of everything and everyone we touch on our journey. It’s the beauty in the darkness that can’t be beheld without swimming in it.

I’m sorry for your loss. This is a beautiful tribute.

My heart goes

to you for Chry's loss dear Cat!
We had been together here in Neo in at least one or two workshops and often commented to each other's poetry. She had a nice poetic voice.
As a poet I will always miss her presence with us here in Neo.
Thanks for the tribute, you've always had the warm heart to all those who you know/knew dear Cat!
