Lillium
shoots of envy thrust
through dreams
like birches in white moon
stands
Like hot v-eights purring
Eyes in shadow shinning
the hunger
the denial
the lust
music ebbs
the smoke careful
finds its way
to the sky
like tortured spirits
ever mending
ever wending
time
shift the shifter
depress the pedal
feel the power
the need
the Oracle of Dreams
like a genie
calling
the madness of
the drug
The Love
The Hate
casualties of romance
..

Steve
Couldn't find a ref to Lillium other than the flower, some of this piece holds the portrait of the flower whilst other parts the vision of a car.
Feelings for both can walk hand in hand according to the beauty they portray to the beholder.
We grow the odd Lilly here, also one of the favourites to buy for the wife, then again the car I drive has a sport mode, where it purrs to the road.
Liked the write and the ensuing confusion.
Yours Ian..

Allusions of granduerosity
mythology...hollywood..indie films..
movement and metaphor..
the car itself a tradgic figure or escape
of fantasy flight now...
the jump from working and walking to be
in a birch stand in winter to a V eight running
which means it must have been started warmed
up with enough petrol...
what is one thinking..revealing to ones thoughts
in the quiet of nite in the stand..Moonlight all about
the quiet compared to the rumble din of the car...
both are vehicles hiding or conveyance too the
motives of each setting
what was the walk about..for..from..towards.
what is the drive for..about..for..from..towards..
purpose
eyes in shadow shinning
the hunger
the denial
the lust
this can be from the woods..the spirits
birches..memories
of summer or season
winter is a cleansing time
everything on hold freezing
clenched the air purified with
its frigid grasp..
what can the woods deny
what can the watcher spirits
or entity deny
Is it Denial itself faced in this
mytho setting..the Moon a witness
to everything and nothing
Then the shift to the car
driving..rolling..
what eyes in shadow
At night obviously perhaps
the poem alludes to nite
in the first stanzas or paragraph
or lines...Is the moonlight still
there...perhaps..there are shadows
cast..Or are the shadows always
there anyway regardless of moon
or lights period..
The hunger....Obviously its a need
something that is restless and all consuming
at times for those starving with an unquenching
appetite..
Denial...denial that the hunger even exists...
that one can hunger for anything..something
nothing..But its there....
the lust
ah yes..always the function of motive
awake at night...a hunger..
denial..lust..already sounds like a far out there
write
music ebbs...
another introduction
and smoke....from a fire? for heat..
spiritual..getting rid of paperwork?
or a cigarette while parked thinking
listening quietly too music..??
Like tortured spirits..
so spirit like ghosts keep the writer
awake....looking to nature
looking to man made things
in moonlight
it doesnt say winter...it could be summer
spring..fall....doesnt say how large the moon
is...wending smoke to the stars..so its not
overcast anyway..no moody storm
rain and wipers...
ever mending
ever wending
time...so this is re ocurring this restlessness
mend and then hunt hunger denial
restless searching
tortured ghosts..
the burning could be a spirit offering
or just a cigarette while a song ends
ebbs...
the rest is basic high school write
stuff....nothing too elaborate
power..need...repetition
nature has a power..at night very
fantasm stuff...one believes in much
then..imaginative...more focus
and vision to troubling thoughts
then mere daylights revelation..
casualities of romance
Love is dead???
the hunger satisfied and finished
written aside
cast off
unburdened
Or refreshed like a genies
wishes...
always the fable
that you should always
consider well what one
wishes..
actually the ending is about power and control
very dark and enriched part of the story..
and powerlessness too in the same venue
that nature will always rise and the rest
too succumb...cars break..broken and rust
away seize up
where mans heart keeps beating
the illness of all that unknown
a ghost in the chambers
the night awakens him
well I write he but it never really emphasizes
whom the possible subject and subjects
are...
I like the creativity of dealing with humans
that they can unlock so much
that which we may never consider locked
or even a door to a room of being
the self is such a mystery
sometimes once something is tasted
it develops a hunger for it
a taste...

I re read this today and there I saw a different picture an integration of feelings painted on a canvass, the picture in fun to see is a V8 engine in a field of lilies, to overwhelm the senses.
There are loves in this world that are beyond words yet we still try and this is near perfect.
Now memories of a similar feeling of a Belle and the pure white snow of Canada endanger my rationality, as it has done for many years lol,
Even putting those two things together for me is to admit a love so strong it rules part of me always..
I must live within the boundaries of today as yesterday though there is sometimes out of reach..
Take care out there, Yours as always Ian..

Esker,
The use of hard and soft imagery is very good to convey fantasy. I like this a lot.
An automobile and a flower contradict each other and yet there is a common ground in the vision and the sound. well done!

I like your comments..They are extremely helpful in understanding what I am writing..and how I am writing to better focus on its meaning too be..the reflection..I like everyones comments too...But he beginning of this...Hard imagery soft imagery to convey fantasy ...Is a good thing to note..and the use of contradict I understand...and the vision and sound...pretty much explains the synapse route of my day to day viewing of the world....So that means peoples voices..sounds are very important to me...of course being completely visual with the artistic gift....I contribute it to the right brain temporal lobe..it channels so much...i had seizures and still take medicine just in case....a lot of what is going on comes in like a roller coast ride....I think my facet of character..being extremely harsh and then extremely soft is what people ..well some like about me..fantasy..i live in this lah lah land...i say things aloud..like mind prompts to entertain or piss people off..get them moving into some kind of creative fire anyway...they do the same too me of course...all of that info and intel flowing in is a fantasy kind of world...thus my love of movies and music that enhance this...thank U..

We all have our hard and soft
We all have our hard and soft characteristics, but tapping into them is few and far between. most artist can do it on a regular bases. Other who can not do it, find it bizarre. Only We that have rode the wheel of life from its pit to its apex can see it. I understand the hard and soft because the style of martial arts I studied all my life Goju Ryu. Which means the hard fist and the open hand, indicating soft. eastern philosophy has always intrigued me. Your understanding of these simple things has open you psychic to the deep thoughts that move in unison around you and the universe. you have tapped in to it. this is why your writing is so eclectic. Bravo!!
