Little Things

It's little things that make my day,
like a grandchilds big warm smile.
That makes my anger go away,
and makes everything worth while.

It's little things like great big hugs,
that means so much to me.
And life just fits together,
like a ship out on the sea.

sitting on my front porch,
watching everyone walk by.
Or watching a bald eagle,
flying high up in the sky.

Strolling through the woods,
on a real warm summer day.
Watching all the animals,
while their eating or at play.

Sitting with a loved one,
how much better could it be.
Being blessed with little things,
means the whole world to me.

I can't agree more

These little things make a real difference and you have said it all.
Welcome to the Neopoet.
Enjoyed the read.

Favorite lines? Well, if I have to choose, the last stanza . It says it all, at least for me

Sitting with a loved one,
how much better could it be.
 Being blessed with little things,
means the whole world to me.

Don

A lovely piece of writing there, welcome to Neopoet and I hope you will have a great time here with us.
Mind you sometimes we are picky, like if I was picky I would say something like this line:- while their eating or at play. the "their" needs to be changed, but I am not like that so will just say,
Great write, Yours Ian.T

dear Ian

i think it can read both correctly

'their eating' =as it refers to the act of consuming food
or
'there eating' if refers to the place where they eat.

I think that the:-
Their is something that belongs to them..
They are or they're eating is more correct.
I shall await my pointed hat, and a dark corner, lol
Have a lovely day out there, Yours Ian.T
Still loves you all

Being one...

who enjoys rhyme immensely, I was drawn to this poem. The sentiments are such, that I relate to them easily,[being a grandfather]. As life gets shorter, our comfort takes less to satisfy. Good read, Ian is right about the [they're/they are]. ~ Geezer
