Loss

You cannot know the pain
To be on your own again
They say it's better
To have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all
But I wonder every day
If those who said those words
Full know the cost of a broken heart
Aching hopelessly.

Loss

Hello, Dandini,
When my husband passed away many years ago, I felt a depth of sadness and loss I never imagined existed. Who or what could have ever tried to prepare me? I'm glad you have the gift of poetry for your journey. Your poem speaks so well. I'm so glad you've shared.
Thank you!

Dear Dandini, the feeling of

Dear Dandini, the feeling of love and loss comes through with power. Beautifully expressed. I have lost too many loved ones, including two sons, aged 21 and 29 years. It was many years ago, but has marked me forever.
I'm so sorry for your loss, hope it was not somebody very very close.
The title, theme and spacing are fine. Enjoyed, despite the sadness.
All the best, Gracy

Dear Gracy,

Dear Gracy,
Thank you for your comment. I cannot begin to understand how you must feel about your 2 sons dying so young.
Best wishes.

Pretty good

It speaks quite well of deep loss. The subject is a bit overdone - used a lot in poetry - but your cadence and rhyming cannot be faulted. It's close to what it should be.
Keep writing.
