THE LOTUS EATERS [ Euthanasia]--updated

THE LOTUS EATERS
[Euthanasia]

they ate of the seed of the lotus
hues of yellow white and dawn red
scents of eastern spices
gracefully flowing
on a warm Aegean breeze
and into the bliss of forgetfulness they fell
lost to this world’s dreaming
no thoughts of a heaven
no fears of a hell
and from a distance
I saw their wanderings
these eaters of the lotus seed
as each began to fade
into a sleep strange and still
never to wake again

Ha! I knew you'd be back,

Ha! I knew you'd be back, Joe!

The seed always flowers with enough water, soil and sun and a lotus flower can be cultivated from a seed. Gonna give that a try that too.

Joe

Joe,

I thought about your sub-title, and thought you were tricking me with that, so I was looking deeper than I needed to. And it was there right in front of me!

So now, let me read it again with the knowledge of knowing what it is about :

It has a sleepy feel to it, slow and gentle.

"Never to wake again...indeed!"

Enjoyed it much more now I know what it is about.

Good stuff Mr Longo, good stuff indeed!
