To Love You (Living with Depression Contest)
Lately,
All I can think about is death
And you.
It's like my brain is hardwired
to love you
Even when I can't love myself.
I used to live
To see the moon on a sunny day
To step on one more crunchy leaf
To feel the sun on my face
To find a lucky penny.
Anything to survive the day.
Just one more day.
Lately,
None of that matters to me.
Now, it's just you.
To hear your laugh,
To look into your eyes,
To feel your hand in mine,
Your lips on mine.
Lately,
I live for you.

Simply said...
I know those days, and not beliving that there was life after break-up,
I would have agreed with you then. But, maybe if I had had the finesse to write such painful poetry to my exes...
there wouldn't have been any. Maybe I would have convinced them that I was truly sorry that the relationship had foundered.
Nicely done, ~ Geezer.

Heartbreak
A whole different kind of depression and pain...what seems to be a neverending gut punch ..painful to even breathe...then somehow we manage to heal and someone comes along that teaches us to love again...this poem resonated with me. Well done...
