Low Battery

Old photos. A cushion crooked on a chair.
Signs conspire and question.
Smiley faces, 'low battery', AI creeping in.

Which side of the rehearsal am I on?

The playdate principle or the drone's view;
floating above highways and islands,
seeing the plan. Godlike in two dimensions.

'Death is a gift'
Jeffrey Dahmer drinking plasma,
far more horrifying than severed heads.
So insouciant, (sauce, saucy, soupy, loopy).
How does the word influence the thing?

Old friends I do not recognize
ask to be my FB friend.
The word 'guess' is suddenly foreign and unknown.
Am I losing it?
Fatso in the foyer mirror, is that me?

I love the title

God I feel like my battery is low a lot. And I relate to a bit of these things personally. How the crooked couch cushion threatens to assault you peace but you don’t have the energy to feel any particular way about it.

Resonates,
Tim

this

thanks for your comment, this came about after listening to a YouTube about imagist poetry, letting the images speak for themselves rather than using them as metaphors.

I like this piece …

The commentary within is really great.

Mirrors sometimes turn us into deamons that do nothing but criticize - i have one in my bathroom that is paticularily mean.
