The Monster Under My Bed

The monster under my bed
Gives me shivers and dread
It lurks and hides in darkness
And holds me in its grasp

It keeps me up at night
The fear of it, a fright
My pillow is my shield
My armor for protection

It lies beneath my feet
It makes my heart skip a beat
The monster seeks my desire
Each and every hour

The small white bag beneath my bed
Remains the reason for my dread
A real monster that fills my dreams
It knows how to invade my choices

My courage is slowly growing
I must face it, I'm knowing
My heart beats wildly
While I take the monster's test

My heart races and I'm shaking
My mind is often aching
I can defeat the monster below
And renew my life once more

A very interesting...

tale of the monster under one's bed. I have the feeling that there is so much more than is revealed. Be that as it may, I am intrigued by the form you have used. Is it something that you have researched? Nicely done, ~ Geez.

Well done

The small white bag under the bed...leads me to believe this is the demon you are fighting and the monster you are referring to. I get the impression once you are free of its contents, the torture will stop? Suspenseful and leaves the reader wondering and looking for more...great job.

Thank you. No I am not

Thank you. No I am not fighting this demon but do know others who are. I find drugs the biggest
monster in the lives of students I have served.
Not every poem I write is always about me. Many are , some are about how I view others.

A good observation

Drugs are a persistent monster that so many are fighting...some we don't even know and then lose the battle. Well done.
