Monsters I've Met

I met a ghost, but he didn't want my head,
He only wanted to know the way to Denver.
I met a devil, but he didn't want my soul,
He only wanted to borrow my bike for awhile.
I met a vampire, but he didn't want my blood,
He only wanted two nickles for a dime.
I keep meeting all the right people--
at all the wrong times.

Shel Silverstein

I don't know...

actually, I think you met them all at the right time! Unless you wanted to lose your head etc...
Nice work though. Geezer.

i met a ghost...

...who nonchalantly unlatched the window
i were frantically endeavouring to open
due to his presence
and i ended-up in a coma

but no mind,
i were where i were before,
only this time the insurance covered the trip.

Best wishes....val.

Authorship

I did not write this poem. I'm just posting it. Shel Silverstein, the children's poet, wrote it.

grrrrr

I don't like lying to children. Most monsters will take your blood or head or worse.
