Mother Love
I am not interested in contests and I don't write free verse, I'm a rhymer but with the June contest as an inspiration I write about my mum.
Mum,
mummy,
dearest love of my heart
you gave unstintingly of yourself
for me
for my siblings.
In the end you died violently
for that love.
You will never be forgotten

It is hard to write about ourselves is it not?
Mommy.
I miss mine dreadfully.
They do change history.
Enter this in the contest.

Thanks Wesley
but I think not. It is too personal for that.

Personal is good for a poem.
Read my "Ottava Rima" for personal.
I still think you should enter it.

Mark, Loved,
Hello friends, I have taken Wesley at his word. He is more experienced in the world of poetry than I am. This was entered yesterday, or even the day before, I am not good at marking time.

''MY MOM SMILES ''

Keith,
your brief poem is really quite touching. My mom died 55 years ago, and I never saw her in her final hours due to my obligation to Uncle Sam. A fine tribute to your mom.

That is a real shame
even prisoners are often allowed compassionate relief to say their final farewells to a parent.
