My Daughter

My daughter,
I don't want you to be perfect
I just want you to be you.
Be proud and love yourself
and only then, I'll love you too.
A lot of beauties in the world,
but none of them are good as you.
Be virtuous and be wise
and to your very self, be true

My daughter,
The world is ugly and full of hate,
show the beauty and love in you.
The world is broken and full of pain,
give your smile and the joy in you.
I raised a jewel, costlier than diamond,
my greatest achievement is having you.
Be confident and proud,
I'll gladly give my life for you.
