Myself

I treat myself
like I am a normal human being
like I have normal feelings and emotions
because that is the way I feel.
It wasn't like this
three years ago
but it is like this today
right now.

The peace and serenity
in which
I am located
is real.
The way
I love being
with other people
and connecting with them
is wonderful.

While I am by myself
I no longer feel alone
nor do I feel lonely.
I have made the changes
which have improved
my life.

About This Poem

Last Few Words: I met my former neighbours , Jodie and Kiran, just yesterday, walking down the main road not far from me. It was lovely to speak with them again. They were on the way back from a walk after a workout at one of the local gyms down the road. I relate, in this poem, to the way I am feeling currently and was feeling at that moment in time.

One suggestion for improvement would be to consider incorporating more vivid imagery or sensory details to enhance the reader's experience and create a stronger emotional impact. This could help bring the themes of self-discovery and personal growth to life in a more engaging way.

Additionally, you may want to explore varying the structure or form of the poem to add depth and complexity to your message. Experimenting with different poetic devices such as metaphor, simile, or symbolism could further enrich the poem and invite readers to interpret its meaning in multiple layers.

Overall, "Myself" is a reflective and introspective piece that captures the speaker's evolving relationship with themselves and others. By refining the use of imagery and
