The Nettle Coombe

The nettles amongst veteran oak breathe
From mighty Moore, Atlantic surge from distant shore
Takes note our humble fortune that plains unscathed
Align in peace undisturbed by planetary ails.
Yet with the Coombe lies a lifeless Combe
Bereft of honey since which bees have flown.
Neither reason nor madness provoke such a thing
When commonality of man is but to sting
But generational shift of virtue to sin.

The Nettle Coombe

Hello, Michael,
Went a-google-ing and discovered the significance of the area and the nettles, and the loss / extinction of many species. Very resounding final two lines.
Thank you,

A significant message

to deliver indeed. Man is the destroyer of his own environment. How sad!
Thank you for sharing and many thanks for some key words I had to google.
