NO LOVE FOR LOVE

I shall go quietly
albeit with my chains -
released into the ethers
without pleasure, without pain

Dissociative dimness,
numbs the mind.
Indifference is Nature's way
of release, from the unkind.

No love for love
given freely over time.
No pity for this fool
who's passion proved the only crime.

A lovely write and I hope fiction, but this still was from some recess of the mind that fears something, maybe being alone.
Not really sure what to say to that feeling it is alien to me, but as only one of my four biological children remembered my Birthday, I seem to know what you are feeling in the write lol.
I have more children here though, and I had about twenty Cards a few presents and two lovely meals out of being one year older lol.

Indeed - isnt' most creative material sporned in that fashion? truth is stranger than fiction, and yes, this is based on the former...
" that fears something, maybe being alone."
Again, isn't that often the most blatant fear after the break up of a relationship?
Good that you could hit the nail on the head so succinctly and accurately!
In your case, don't think you are in any way "a fool for love" viz-a-viz your children Ian. Isn't it just that everyone's lives are so busy and frenetic? Then again, you were remembered and your birthday celebrated by so many others so - a belated birthday from me to! :)
