The Path
The Path
by Noel Ikan Astillero, TSP/Vidya Lodge
09 June 2012, Manila
I was taught that a Path exists,
But to travel it, one has to read;
Volumes upon volumes of Theosophic lit,
They fill my Mind -
But after all: "Where is the Path?"
The Path is found, not in books,
But in Life.
The books suggest -
A truth one never knows exist
Until at last, Life tests it on the ground;
Then a lesson is learned
As one treads the ground.
It is not the number of books,
They say;
Nor the number of seminars
Or conversations with Brothers Theosophists;
But deep within one's Inner Self,
A seed is sown,
That one day soon,
A lotus or an oak has grown.
It is thus about Theosophic truths:
Unless the lotus or the oak has grown,
Ne'r in the Path has thou trod
For floating in lessons
Thou art lost!

yeah, mate, I've done the Theosophic trip, along with most philosophies and theologies and I hear you.
I'm a poet scientist now, just truth, that which is as yet unexplained, will be.
And only by walking and living the many paths of learning can we avoid boxing ourselves into packaged faith and ignorance.
I salute you brother.
About the poem, I think archaic forms like "thou" don't help. They make you sound pseudo-profound.
