Peaceful Protest

There are no kings
where I come from
no royal seats of gold

there's just a man
who has great fear
of losing his false hold

on weak men
who bow down to him
who gladly will betray

the rights of fellow
Countrymen
whose values lead their way

we want no soldiers
in our streets
no bullying tanks

we want Democracy
and Peace
and Freedom to give thanks

there is no dictator
who rules
no feeble, flimsy crown

we show our Flag
Red, White, and Blue -
it's flying upside down.

Dear Lavender 🪻

How I admire your peaceful protest. A piece that I wish I had written.

Those last lines are my favorite.

"we show our Flag
Red, White, and Blue -
it's flying upside down."

Wow!

Hello, Rula,

Such a disheartening time we are going through.  Our countries and the entire world...

Take good care, My Friend

Perfectly written

Love the honesty, and tranquility of this poem.

Yes these are worrying times, but better days are around the corner (never give up hope).

Hello, Tigger,

Yes!  There are absolutely better days ahead - especially when we let our voices be heard, as is our right.

Thank you for reading!

Unfortunately,

Unfortunately i live in a country which for some insane reason has a king, correction i live in a country which has opposed this kingdom crap constantly. But we can't shake of our english neighbours. It's a real shame on mankind that we need troops or weapons of any kind, we're supposed to be the educated animal. But due to some men trying to cling to power, and in some cases stay out of jail. Sorry i'm begining to rant, good luck Great poem.
