Pictures of Love

Your love never did dawn on me slowly;
picturesque, with billowing clouds,
emblazoned with red and violet flame,
slow to ignite from dull glowing embers.

Instead, like the soft instant click of the shutter,
it sang;
blinking behind your heart’s lens
which captured this once barren landscape,
instantaneously burned onto virgin film
like an epiphany of blissful infatuation.

dear Tim,

I can only imagine the wild ride it became! excellent imagery that inflames the imagination beautiful inspiring words that dip and swirl in my mind. your wife is a very lucky to be in love with a poet. my husband isn't a poet of words, but- when I catch him gazing at me I see the love of decades in his eyes and I fall...all over again...

*hugs, Cat

This was sent as a text

Her photo was chosen for an exhibit of employee artists at her hospital. I sent her this when we went to the opening. Then we ate Lebanese food! As it turns out her photo won awards! She’s so heartthrob!

So beautiful!

And well composed. The poem is sweet as the roses that intoxicates the air and soft as the petals that caressed their skin.

Excellent!!!

How lucky...

to be so in love! I'm sure that she feels the same way about you, I can actually see this as a painting. Great stuff! ~ Geez.

Dear Tim

Sigh,

This is gorgeous poetry to be loved so deeply and completely would be such a gift. I never have been. Not like this. I got a catch in my throat when I read that last line. Not often that happens.

Bravo!

Thank you

The women of this website are the picture of feminine divinity and you all are celebrated and adored in my mind every time I read what you write.

Now, the poem makes it seem a bit easier than it is. The fact of the matter is we both work really hard on ourselves and each other and we rarely let outside influence into our relationship. 19 years and we are just starting to hit our stride with love and life. There were times I wanted to give up, probably her as well. I know that when she’s gone my feelings for her are overwhelming and when she’s here I could drown in romantic tidal waves. Sometimes writing is the only way to stay afloat in those features.
